The Digital Veil:

How AI and Automation Distance People from True Human Connection In an age where artificial intelligence seamlessly integrates into our daily lives, have we mistaken convenience for connection?
The Digital Veil explores the growing divide between human intimacy and technological mediation. From AI-generated conversations to algorithmically curated emotions, we increasingly engage with the world through digital filters—substituting real interactions for simulations of closeness.
This theme invites artists to examine the unseen barriers created by automation. Has AI made us more connected or more isolated? Does the ease of digital communication erode the depth of human relationships? Participants may depict themes of loneliness in a hyper-connected world, the illusion of companionship through screens, or the struggle to find authenticity in an era of synthetic engagement. Will you lift the veil—or let it consume reality?
